Elsa Skuy

Elsa Ruth Skuy was born in "downtown" Toronto and spent her formative years in that area. Her interest in the creative arts grew as she explored the many corners of the city. Nature and "cottage country" north of Toronto have also influenced Elsa's work -- as seen in the colourful acrylic paintings she has created both in realistic and abstract modes. Living abroad and much travel throughout the world have also influenced how Elsa sees the world and colour. And this is what she tries to bring to her painting. Elsa began painting in acrylics in recent years after much success as a ceramicist and photographer, and uses her own photographs as inspiration for her paintings.

Elsa's paintings, ceramics and photographs are found in both public and private collections in Canada and abroad.
